About me

Passionate about working with wood

Paula Barratt  specialises in traditional woodcarving, working predominantly in woods which are native to the UK. She is based in north London and is available for commissions of new works as well as restoration of historic works.

Paula was classically trained at the  City and Guilds of London Art School, where carving has been taught using traditional methods for generations. In addition to carving skills, Paula’s training provided her with skills in drawing and clay modelling, which form an important part of the preparatory stages of her work.  Her studies in art history allow her to ensure that the historic context of her work is respected.

In 2019 Paula exhibited work at Messums Wiltshire.

Recent clients include the Fishmongers Company, Hampstead Garden Suburb Trust and St Mark's Church Regent's Park.

Paula is a member of the Heritage Crafts Association
